Abdülvâhid Efendi

He was born in Iran's Mashhad. In addition to a solid education, he studied ta'lik with Ali Mashhadi. Later, he moved to Anatolia and joined Germiyanid Suleyman Shah's service. He was given the position of professor at the Wajidiya Madrasa in Kutahya. Here, he conducted astronomical research and wrote books. It is reported that Abdulwahid Efendi, who is known to be a member of the Mawlawi sufi order by following Sultan Burhaneddin Ergun, one of the Mawlawis of Kütahya, wrote a poem on the science of astrolabe upon the request of Fenârîzâde Mehmed Efendi. In 838, he passed away in the month of Sha'ban (M. 1434) and was interred in Kütahya.
