Abdulridha Baheya Dawood
About Artist
Abdulridha Baheya Dawood was born
in Baghdad in 1952 and graduated from
Baghdad University, Faculty of Fine Arts.
He completed his master's and doctorate
degrees at his alma mater. Abdulridha
Baheya Dawood, who teaches at the
Institute of Arts and Crafts of the Ministry
of Culture and Media, has participated in
many conferences and published articles.
He is the head of the Department of Arabic
Calligraphy and Decoration, Faculty of Fine
Arts of Baghdad University; the president
of the Association of Iraqi Calligraphers,
president of the Artisans Union and a
member of the Iraqi Artists Association.
The Holy Quran copy that he calligraphed
in thuluth-naskh was published in London.
He is a jury member of Mushaf Writing
Contest in Kufi Script, Ramadan Forum
for Holy Quran Calligraphy and IRCICA
International Calligraphy Contest.
