About Artist

He was born in 1975 in Başbağlar, the village of Oltu district in Erzurum. He finished elementary school in the village. He graduated from Oltu Imam Hatip High School in 1992. The artist was interested in Oltu stone processing and studied at Atatürk University for one year in the department of stone and metal processing. In 1997, he started to study Turkish Handicrafts-Illumination in the Department of Fine Arts at Atatürk University. The artist who graduated in 2001, moved to Istanbul to perform art activities in the same year. He took place in many group exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad. Some of his artworks took place in private collections. He joined to Qur'an designing competition of Qatari state and his designs were used in Qur'an print. In Istanbul, he took Arabic calligraphy lessons in Diwani and Celi Diwani from Calligrapher Hasan Celebi and he got his Ijazah in calligraphy. Nowadays, he continues his calligraphy and illumination artworks at his workshop in Uskudar, Istanbul.
