About Artist
Hüseyin Gündüz was born in Kayseri in
1961. He received his training in naskh,
thuluth, and taliq from Hamid Aytaç and
Kemal Batanay between 1976 and 1982.
Gündüz attended calligraphy classes
at Mimar Sinan University and worked
with Emin Barın and Prof. Ali Alparslan.
He completed his master’s degree with
a thesis titled “Comparison of Sheikh
Hamdullah’s and Karahisari’s Schools
of Calligraphy” and obtained proficiency
in art with his work entitled “Aesthetic
Elements of Calligraphy”. Hüseyin Gündüz
has restored manuscripts in various
collections and published books and
articles on traditional Turkish arts. He
is currently a faculty member at Mimar
Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of
Calligraphy.
