About Artist
First Emirati and Gulf citizen to be certified as a professional calligrapher holding a “ijazet” in several scripts (Naskh, Thuluth, Jeli Thuluth, Tugra, Jeli Divani and Divani) from Istanbul, Turkey.
Calligraphy Teacher at Abu Dhabi Culture and Heritage Authority between 1990 and 2000.
Qualifications and Experience:
· “Ijazet” Certification in the art of Arabic Calligraphy – Istanbul, Turkey
· Acquaintance with great Egyptian calligraphers: Sayyid Ibrahim, Mahmoud Al Shahat, Mohammed Abdul Qader, Mossad Khudeir El Borsaeedi
· Experience and Acquaintance with teachers: Mustafa Nejat El Din, Ahmed Diyaa, Abdullah Rida in Medina, Saudi Arabia
· Throughout 20 years, made frequent visits to Istanbul – Turkey where he trained and interacted with grand calligraphers: Sheykh Hasan Chelebi, Sheykh Hussein Kutlu, Fuad Bashar, Mohammed and Osman Ozjay, Dawood Bektash
· First Gulf citizen to treat and experiment handmade paper with a long experience in “Ahar” paper-making for over 30 years

· Wrote the Qur’anic inscriptions on the walls of the Al Hosn Palace Mosque in Abu Dhabi – 1984
