About Artist
Mustafa Safâyî Efendi's son, he was born in Istanbul. He studied calligraphy under Mihâlicî Mehmed Şâkir Efendi and received his ijazah in 1180 AH / 1766-1767 AD. After completing his education, he served in various writing positions. Later, he was admitted to the ranks of the hajagan and employed in several official duties. While serving as the clerk of the Valide Mosque, he passed away on 14 Ramadan 1219 AH / 18 December 1804 AD. He was buried next to his father, who is interred in Eyüp.
