About Artist
Born in Üsküdar in 1983. Akar took illumination classes from Harun Yılmaz in 2007-2008, ruq’ah and diwani classes from Hüseyin Hüsnü Türkmen at Üsküdar Basic Turkish-Islamic Arts Center. She completed her illumination training she started with Emel Türkmen at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation in four years, currently continues her illumination studies at Hüseyin-Emel Türkmen Arts House and illuminates her graduation plate. Akar, who published various works, participated in many exhibitions. She won achievement award in the 17th State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2013, and third prize in the Masters of the Future Competition organized in 2016. She studies at Istanbul University Sociology Department.
