Şumnu hattatlarından olan Seyyid Ahmed Zâ’ifî Efendi, Hasan Âşıkî Efendi’nin şâkirdânından olmakla birlikte terceme-i hâli hakkında bir bilgi yoktur. H. 1283/M. 1866 tarihli Kur‘ân-ı Kerîm’i özel koleksiyonda bulunan hattatın, mushâf kitâbeti ile meşgul olan erbâb-ı hattan olduğu anlaşılmaktadır.
