Sibel Ak

About Artist

She was born in 1977 in Rize.  She graduated from Eyüp İmam Hatip High School in 1996 and Anadolu University Public Administration Department in 2009. She completed her master's degree in 2013 with her thesis titled “Analysis of Murat the 3rd’s Tugra, found in the TSMK III, in a Perspective of Pattern and Color” in Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, Institute of Fine Arts, Illumination Main Art Branch.  Between 2001-2007, she took illumination lessons from Hatice Aksu.  She took ebru lessons from Fuat Başar and 2005-2007; and Miniature lessons from Orhan Dağlı between 2007-2009. Since 2010, she has been continuing her illumination studies under the supervision of Fatma Özçay. Since 2016, she has been working in Istanbul Classical Arts Center as a Illumination Souvereign. She participated in various exhibitions both in Turkey and abroad.
