About Artist
Although he was born in Üsküdar, there is no information about his lineage. He learned calligraphy from Hafiz Halil Efendi. He was one of the famous archers of his time, and in 1189 AH / 1775 AD, while he was the steward of the Korucular (guards), he shot an arrow 941 gezes (an old unit of length) and had a range stone erected. Later, he became the steward to Selim Sırrı Pasha, and through this connection, he became one of the hajagans (high-ranking bureaucrats) and was appointed to the Enfiyye Administration. After being dismissed, he returned to the service of his patron. While traveling with him to Thessaloniki, he died in 1215 AH / 1800-1801 AD as a result of the ship sinking.
