Amer Ben Jeddou

Amer Ben Jeddou, an imam and retired
teacher, was born in Sidi Bouzid in
Tunisia in 1954 and holds a diploma in
painting from Belgium. His career in
calligraphy started with examining the
old calligraphy models and later on he
pursued calligraphy education under
the supervision of Mohamed Yacine
Moutir. Amer Ben Jeddou is a member
of the Tunisian Association of Arabic
Calligraphy and honorary member of the
Egyptian Society of Arabic Calligraphy.
He participated in many Islamic art and
calligraphy forums and held personal
exhibitions in various countries. He
conducted research on the kufic script of
Kairouan and based on the writings of Ali
b. al-Warraq, he wrote a textbook entitled
The Principles of Kairouan Kufic.
