About Artist

 Born in Siverek in 1982. He completed his primary education at Şanlıurfa Eyyübiye Primary School and his secondary education at Şanlıurfa Imam Hatip High School. He graduated from Selçuk University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Calligraphy Major in 2007. He began his first calligraphy lessons with Quran teacher and Calligrapher Hajj Alp. From 1995 onwards, he attended Mehmet Memiş's calligraphy classes. He studied Thuluth and Naskh scripts under Mehmet Memiş and received his ijazah in 2010. During his university years, he learned Riq'a, Diwani, Jali Diwani, and Ta'liq scripts from Calligrapher Hüseyin Öksüz. After teaching calligraphy for a while at KOMEK and Meram Public Education Center in Konya, he moved to Istanbul. He benefited from the teachings of Uğur Derman, Osman Özçay, Mehmed Özçay, Davut Bektaş, and Ali Toy. He worked as a specialist at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University for a period. He has participated in many exhibitions both domestically and internationally. He has received numerous awards in national and international competitions, particularly from IRCICA, Albaraka Türk, and the Ministry of Culture. He continues his teaching duties at the Classical Turkish Arts Foundation and ISMEK Specialization Center. The artist, who continues his calligraphic work in Istanbul, is married and has two children.
